Surgical Watch Works

The watchmaker

About me

Dentist by profession. Self-taught watchmaker by passion. That line has been on my Instagram since the first post, and it is still the shortest true description of what happens here.

Dentistry is a job of magnification, steady hands, and getting very small things exactly right. Watchmaking asks for the same, so the habits came across intact: gloves, a clean field, one movement on the bench at a time, and no step skipped because it is inconvenient.

I taught myself the long way — service manuals, technical guides, and movements bought broken specifically to be understood. What you see on the feed is the result: Daytonas, GMTs, Submariners and Speedmasters photographed as they come apart and go back together, because the work is worth documenting.

If you have a watch that has been sitting in a drawer because you did not know who to trust with it, that is precisely the watch I would like to see.
